tl;dr if meat was thawed in the fridge then it can be frozen again (within a reasonable time frame)
When I was buying pasture raised meat online, they used to come frozen and in packages.
I didn’t want to thaw an entire package and be responsible for eating all that within a day or two.
Then, I learned that I could thaw meat in the fridge, chop them up, put them in multiple containers as a meal prep, then freeze again for later use. With a caveat.
The caveat is that the meat should not stay thawed too long in the fridge.
For my 1 lb packages, I could have it in the fridge for a day (so put one in the fridge the night before), cut them, put them in 3-6 containers, and freeze again.
If I kept it in the fridge for a few days, then not only they were not good to refreeze again, but they were not good to consume at all.
But for a meal prep, this can be pretty useful!
